Timmy Foundation
The Timmy Foundation is a non-profit organization based out of Indianapolis that channels resources to sustainable health projects in developing countries. Their vision: The people we serve have the ability to live healthy lives and have the promise of healthy futures. We serve direct populations through college and public medical brigades, but most importantly we seek to empower existing healthcare projects in the countries we serve by providing money, medicine, supplies and equipment.
As the winner of the Million Dollar Round Table’s (MDRT) Quality of Life Grant, Mark Wise, Wealth Management
Advisor with The Clark Financial Group, a district network
office with The Derrickson Financial Group in Indianapolis, presents a $2,500 check to The Timmy Foundation.
The Quality of Life Grant program recognizes MDRT members for their outstanding volunteerism through a grant to their charity of choice. Wise has been a member of MDRT since 2001.
Mark has been a involved with the foundation since 2002 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for the foundation. He previously served as the treasurer and fundraising and finance chairs. In March 2008, he traveled with the foundation to Guatemala on their medical brigade team to help families in need to purchase a variety of medical supplies.
CHAMP Camp
Founded in 1991, CHAMP Camp is a private, non-profit organization that provides a week long summer camp for children and adolescents, ages six and up, who have tracheostomies and those that require respiratory assistance, including the use of ventilators. Many of the campers also have unique physical challenges, including quadriplegia. Some of the activities they participate in throughout the week include-fishing, canoeing, creative arts, horseback riding, camping.
Mark has sponsored a table at their annual Silver Sneaker Benefit Ball since 2002 to help raise money for children to attend the camp.
Quest for Excellence
Through this program Mark sponsors school tuition for a child so he can attend Luise’s Love Child Care Center in Indianapolis. This is a state licensed child care center that provides affordable, developmentally-based child care for children three to six years old, whose parents are either working, going to school or in job training. The families must be homeless, in transitional housing or at risk.
United Way of Central Indiana
In February 2009, Mark became a member of United Way's local Indianapolis chapter as part of their Tocqueville Society. It's membership offers an unrivaled opportunity to connect with other community leaders. These leaders see the value in helping United Way maintain a human services network that addresses today’s needs, while also supporting programs that focus on kids’ success in school and beyond, thereby reducing needs for the future. Mark serves on the Tocqueville Council which helps recruit new members into the Tocqueville society.
Besides his monetary contributions, Mark participates in a variety of networking meetings and luncheons, as well as various volunteering projects around the Indianapolis area to help various charitable organizations. He also participates in the Emerging Leaders Program.
